Signature Comparisons
I have found two examples of what I think is the signature of Reverend Joshua Palmer. The first is on a petition he signed in 1791 requesting that the South Carolina Senate allow a ferry to be established where the road from Greenville to Camden crossed the fork of Lynches Creek.

The second example comes from the 1806 will of his neighbor Aaron Harlan in Laurens County. Joshua signed as a witness:

To me the signatures look quite similar.
I have also found two examples of the signature of Captain Joshua Palmer. The first is from his application for a Revolutionary War pension in 1832:

The second is from his will written shortly before his death in 1835. This will is a photocopy sent to me by a Palmer researcher back in 1987. She had highlighted the names of the heirs.

These two signatures also look alike but to me do not resemble the signature of Reverend Joshua Palmer.
